My Page Rank is UP Again

Good news to smile about! My Page Rank for this Make Money Online blog has increased from yesterday's devastating PR of 1. The Page Rank for this blog is now 2 after I removed some links and placed "nofollow" attribute in some links. I am expecting to get the PR-4 for this blog in a week's time or less. I am doing a lot of cleaning for my blogs.

Google is really serious in penalizing blogs that sell links and is serious as well in rewarding blogs which do not sell links. Currently I have 2 blogs with PR-4, 2 blogs with PR-2 and 1 blog with PR-3. I am waiting for the increase in this blog's PR to the original PR 4. I'm confident Google will see all my efforts and give back my PR.

Take my word for it. Don't sell links if Page Rank matters to you. If you have links in your blog already take them down ASAP. Whether we like it or not it pays to play by Google's Rules.

The Controversy Over Paid Links and Page Rank

Google dropped the Page Rank of many blogs high profile blogs and even low profile blogs like my blog "Make Money Online" which has reached the lowest Rank for the past months- a terribly devastating PR-1 and PR-2 according to different Google Centers.

While I have decided to not dwell on the matter and cry my heart out for the PR drop, an email was sent to me this morning from Webpronews. The opinions from different bloggers and website owners are worth reading. Take a look at some of what website owners have to say about their PR going down.

1. Google Is Justified
This should come as no surprise, after all Google warned us. Paid links hit at the core of why we all love Google ... its quality search results. Google is perfectly justified in taking steps to protect the integrity of its SERPS.

Lowering page rank of those who sell links levels the playing field for all of us who don't sell them. It is Google's search engine and they can do what they want in order to keep it great and even improve it.

2. Google is Out of Control
Google sells links and should not penalize others for selling them too. Why should Google be able to tell me how to link and whom to link to? What is wrong with linking and why should I have to put a no-follow tag on a link when I genuinely like a site.? How does their algorithm know that I received payment for a link?

Google is simply out to crush competition. Don't they remember their roots? It was the webmasters who were the first adopters of Google's search engine. It was us who made you rich Google! One blogger called it a Google "bitch slap!" Is Google retaliating against me for criticizing them in my blog?

Is Google the next Microsoft? All of us lowly web peasants should ask forgiveness from our beloved Internet King! Google, you are a competitive monopoly who should realize that your actions impact the livelihoods of thousands of Internet entrepreneurs.

3.Why Me? Please Give My PR Back!
I don't sell links anymore. I have removed all the links that look like they are paid. Now please reinstate my page rank! I want to thank all of my sponsors and I hope that they will keep this PR drop in perspective and continue advertising with me. I really don't sell links, I am simply thanking my friends and partners for their support.

I am sorry I did not take your prior statements more seriously. Google, I thought that you were talking about link farms, not quality content sites like mine that sell a link here and there. I literally spend 60 hours a week writing unique content and I have now removed the links that look suspicious.

I was just kidding when I suggested my page rank loss was because I stopped using Adsense. I have written you asking for my page rank back and I am waiting for your response.

Apparently, I am not the only person experiencing a Page Rank murder if I may call it. I placed "no follow" attribute in the links coming from Reviewme, Linkworth and TLA, and some private transactions. And yet my PR dropped. If this scenario continues, what will happen to small time bloggers who chiefly rely on Reviewme, Linkworth, TLA, Smorty, Reverse Links and other similar programs to monetize their blogs? This Page Rank Murder seems to suggest we use only adsense, bidvertiser and adbrite instead.

Page Rank is Down: Is Google Penalizing Me?

Nothing seems to shock me more this month than my Page Rank going down. Okay, I was out for few days. When I left i had PR of 4 for http://www.spaceofinfluence.blogspot.com and PR of 2 for http://spaceofinfluence.blogspot.com.

Just arrived today and this blog "Make Money Online" has a very very low PR.

The shocking very alarming Update:

• with www- The PR is 3 (just an update: as of Oct. 25 the PR is now 2. Is my blog's PR decreasing on a daily basis? This is getting crazy! But I can do nothing about it!!)
  
• without www- The PR is 1

I won't deny I sell links in my blog as a way of monetizing it. I've read about blogs and websites being penalized by google for selling links. In fact the PR of the websites of Pro-blogger, John Chow, and Mike Perry have gone down as well.

My blog is hit by "canonical issue" plus the penalty from google. It's like am being skin peeled twice. I have not seen any change in my SERP and I hope I won't see my SERP going down as well. God forbids! Aaaaaah! Somebody please cheer me up!!!

I believe I joined Widgetbucks last week. I had the code displayed in my sites for more than a week and look at how much money I've made. $1.35 for 3 clicks out of 1,723 impressions. (click the image below to enlarge)

I got $49 from newsroom in less than 2 Weeks

Heard of Newsroom? Voxant? I talked about it in this blog long long time ago. The first experience with Newsroom was not a good one. Read more about it in my old post. Why the bad experience? Well, I was earning cents. The very problem was not with Newsroom but with me. I did not know how to embed the video feed. I did not bother to discover how to embed the video feed. Videos are different and the Video Feed is another thing as well. If you use the video feed you are paid $4.00 per 1thousand unique plays. Using Video per se, pays only cents. See the photo, I made $.70 for 234 plays. Very very minimal. Won't be enough for the effort to place the code in the blog.

Due to the not rewarding earnings, I forgot about Voxant for a while. Until I discovered how to embed the Video Feed. I gave Voxant/Newsroom another try. I embed the Video Feeds in my blogs and look at my earnings. For 12, 302 plays the money I made amounted to $49.21. Please dont wonder about the thousands of plays cause I maintain quite a number of sites. I might even start a new blog sometime this week.

All in all the money I made is $50.16, the $49.21 was made possible in less than 2 weeks. To really get the best from newsroom you have to have traffic to your website. I know there are a lot of people/bloggers out there making money online using Newsroom. Getting $4 a day for 1,000 impression/plays for your video feed is at par with adsense if not better than adsense if you have a good traffic.

Not long ago I joined Pay-ads, back then, I was skeptical about the concept knowing I need traffic to really make money from it. But nevertheless I gave Pay-ads a try.

Pay-ads work by you getting paid per impression, that is you register for free, get a code which you will put in your site. The ad looks like the ad you will find below, near the footer of this blog. Basically that's it. If your site gets at least a thousand impression per day from different IP addresses, browser used, and country origin taken into consideration, you get paid with the following amounts:

As you will notice, you get paid more if the visitors to your website come from Australia, Canada, United Kingdom and the United States. Pay-ads pays through E-gold or Moneybookers, there is no minimum. I got paid $28 already. Pay-ads says one can also earn by reading emails, clicking PTC or PTS banners but I haven't received any emails from them nor did I find the get paid to click section in my account page. The important thing is that Pay-ads pays and I can attest to that.


UPDATE:One of my blogs got malware on them and google placed this warning "This site may be harmful to your computer!" The culprit: Pay-ads! When I removed pay-ads code my blog was cleaned again. My friend who was using pay-ads also experienced the same problem but after removing pay-ads code her blog was free of malware again. So I discourage anyone now from using pay-ads now! Not until pay-ads clean it's codes I would stay away from using them.

Make Money Online Earnings Report

It's time to evaluate how I did for the month of September in terms of my quest to make money using free blogger blog. In a scale of 1 to 10, I give my progress a 7. This is commensurate with the effort I put in to generate money, and all other things like schooling, intervening surprising circumstances considered. Since I joined so many sites to make money online, I will post only my top 5 earners for September:

1. Adsense= over $80
2. Clickbooth= $72.59
3. Reviewme= $50 (I did not accept reviews due to my hectic schedule in school)
4. TLA=$36
5. Linkworth= $40

Total Money=$278.59
