Forum Posting to Increase Backlinks!

Do you know that forum posting can increase your backlinks and in turn help increase your SERP ranking and even page rank? There are many forums you can join online. Most of these forums offer free signature link. You can capitalize on this by placing your link to your site. If the forum is do follow, you generate extra backlinks to your site. The more posts you have on the forum the more backlinks you get.

Now assuming that the forum is no follow, should you stop posting with your signature link then? Absolutely not. Even if the forum is no follow, you can still get traffic from your signature links. Aside from that, forum posting does tend to increase your SERP regardless if the forum is do follow or no follow. Of course, it is better if you choose forum sites which are do follow. The more posts the more backlinks. Just make sure you follow the rules in these forums and be responsible to avoid getting banned.

5 Ways Improve Your Search Engine Rankings and Get Traffic

If you are making money using adsense and other programs like adbrite or bidvertiser, traffic is the main factor to generate income for you. So you need to improve your search engine rankings. How do you do these?

1. Use PPC programs. You can try Adwords for that matter. You can even advertise using facebook. If you don't want to spend money, then proceed to the other step below.

2. Spread your links as much as possible. You do this by commenting on many blogs with high page ranks or blogs with good ranking and visitors. Leave valuable comments. Don't just spam.

3. Bookmark your articles. Bookmarking is an old method of generating backlinks and traffic. The effects will be most felt in the long run.So go ahead and register to at least 5 bookmarking sites starting today. Bookmark a few articles of yours and in no time you see an improvement in your SERP ranking and in traffic.

4. Use Youtube to promote your site. Upload a video on youtube. Place your link in the description box and voila, expect a few more traffic plus extra backlink to your site.

5. Use Yahoo answers. Answer questions that you are familiar of. Then leave your link. Be careful not to spam or else your account will be deleted.

This Blog's The Only PR-0 in the Top20 for the Keyword "Make Money Online"

It's a big accomplishment to have made it to the top 20 for the keyword "make money online" considering that I know very very little about SEO. It's pretty impressive I think because this blog is barely a year old plus considering this is a blogspot blog.

I was browsing google checking the sites linking to my blog and I notice Pqinternet appearing in the results. Not really linking to this blog but it made mentioned of my blog so ordinarily it would appear when I searched for the links pointing to this blog.

Pqinternet is authored by Fred Black and he did a good analysis of the top 20 websites for the keyword "make money online" and this site sits happily at rank 16 just above DoshDosh one of the websites i read on a regular basis.

Now as for the Page Ranks of those in the Top 20 for "make money online" here's the screenshot. Although you can visit Pqinternet for the original results!

If you notice I'm the only blog in the top 20 with a Page Rank of Zero. It's a bit of a shame. Google punished this blog but I'm hoping to get my PR back. What can you deduce from this result? One of the theories I can derive from this is that Page Rank is not the indicative of your Search Engine Placement or SERP. Take a look at my blog and take a look at Mashable which has a page rank of 7 and yet it's at top 20. Or take a look at Carlo's website which has PR of 3 but outranked all of us including those with high PRs. By the way Carlo is a filipino just like me. He is from Manila and I am from Mindanao. And if I'm not mistaken, we are the only Filipino blogs which managed to make it to the top 20 for the keyword despite the tough competition. And if you notice out of 20 websites there are 5 blogspot sites. Would it be right if I presume Google loves blogs!

Anyway, making it to the top 20 for the keyword i am targeting from the very beginning means I'm on the right track. It's only a matter of maintaining and improving my rank. I wonder what will happen to my rank if I get my Page Rank back?

Page Rank is Down: Is Google Penalizing Me?

Nothing seems to shock me more this month than my Page Rank going down. Okay, I was out for few days. When I left i had PR of 4 for http://www.spaceofinfluence.blogspot.com and PR of 2 for http://spaceofinfluence.blogspot.com.

Just arrived today and this blog "Make Money Online" has a very very low PR.

The shocking very alarming Update:

• with www- The PR is 3 (just an update: as of Oct. 25 the PR is now 2. Is my blog's PR decreasing on a daily basis? This is getting crazy! But I can do nothing about it!!)
  
• without www- The PR is 1

I won't deny I sell links in my blog as a way of monetizing it. I've read about blogs and websites being penalized by google for selling links. In fact the PR of the websites of Pro-blogger, John Chow, and Mike Perry have gone down as well.

My blog is hit by "canonical issue" plus the penalty from google. It's like am being skin peeled twice. I have not seen any change in my SERP and I hope I won't see my SERP going down as well. God forbids! Aaaaaah! Somebody please cheer me up!!!

SERP standing for "Make Money Online"

Remember my Post about My Desire to improve the SERP of this blog for the keyword: "Make Money Online"? Remember this blog's rank in google for that keyword? This blog was not included in the top 100,and if am not mistaken, not even in the top 1,000. The difficulty of the keyword "make money online" is very very high. It seemed impossible at first to break the barrier and get as close as the top 100 spot.

But just today, as I search google for the keyword "make money online", this blog is sitting at the top 21 position out of (267,000,000)now 324,000,000 competitors. What a huge leap! Here's a Snapshot.

Tell me if the snapshot does not work or you could just go to google and search for "make money online" and see live how this blog ranks.


A better SERP standing means more traffic and most likely, but not absolute more traffic means more revenues. The secret to a better SERP? I am not really sure with what made the sudden change in SERP. I made template changes, meta tag changes, and minor alterations with codes. Thanks a lot to my SEO friend from India. As soon as I figure out the best contributing factor for the better SERP standing this blog is experiencing now, I will make another post about it.

The funny thing though is that I am hoping that this better SERP for "make money online" keyword is not some sort of glitch from google search engines (lol).

My Quest to Get Better SERP for Keyword "Make Money Online"

I have made it to the top two spots for the keyword "legitimate earning sites" in less than 3 months of blogging. That accomplishment meant so much to me. But sadly, I don't get that much traffic from google or yahoo for that keyword.Perhaps it's not the most searched keyword online. So I have decided to change my target keywords to "Make Money Online". The competition is very very high for these keyword. There is Carlo the 13 year old pinoy blogger, John Chow, Dosh Dosh, Kumiko and other bloggers who have dominated the search engine for these keywords. I don't aim at outranking these "Giants" in the blogosphere. I only wish to make it to the top 100 for these keyword, and gradually increase it to the top 50 then 30. Using Shoemoney's SERP script, I got the top 24 spot at MSN for "make money online" but not lucky enough to get it to google and yahoo. Getting close to top 20 at MSN is a big start though.
